DIRECTOR'S CORNER It is hard to believe that summer is already here! It has been a busy time for the PCMA Food Pantry. We have been blessed to have so many organizations and individuals who have committed to donating fresh produce from a home garden or a plot at the community gardens. Our clients welcome the wide range of colorful, fresh, and nutritious vegetables and fruits. Epiphany Lutheran Church has organized a brown bag lunch Another way to help is to sign up for the Kroger Community Rewards Program. It's easy to do and doesn't cost you a penny. Once signed up, a percent of your total purchase will be donated back to the food pantry. Just click on this link and you will be able to sign up. http://www.kroger.com/mykroger/016/community/Pages/community_rewards.aspx A heartfelt thank you to all who support the work of the food pantry in any way, be it through your donations, your time, or your prayers. A special thanks goes out to our dedicated volunteers who are the heart and soul of the food pantry! |
| THANK YOUS A big thank you goes out to the local churches and businesses who sponsored our first food pantry t-shirt (which volunteers could be seen wearing while collecting admission fees for the Violet Festival). These sponsors include ActiveLife Family Chiropractic, C3 Church, Epiphany Lutheran Church, The Good Company, Peace United Methodist Church, and Pickerington Church of the Nazarene. Thanks also to the churches, community organizations, or businesses that held food drives for us or offered monetary support. An example is Amber Park Retirement & Assisted Living Community whose residents donated monies earned by doing a "Grandma's Attic" rummage sale. We are also very grateful to those individuals in our community that make a difference by bringing us a few bags of groceries or presenting a cash donation. We are especially touched by youth in our community who donate the proceeds from a lemonade stand or ask for food or cash contributions in lieu of birthday gifts. To anyone that has done something, no matter how big or small, to further the mission of the food pantry, it all matters and it all makes a difference. Keep up the good work, we need you! Thank you and God bless! Dianna |
